2025.12.31 ⛩️ Guiren Renshou Temple: Protected by the God of Medicine Baosheng for nearly 300 years, the core temple of Guiren's faith Guiren Renshou Temple (commonly known as Guiren Grand Temple) is the most important religious center in Tainan, dedicated to the God of Medicine, Baosheng Dadi (Da Dao Gong). This ancient temple, spanning three centuries, centers on the legend of the main deity's compassionate protection of health, combined with the well-equipped Wenchang Hall and Tai Sui Hall, becoming the highest sanctuary for locals and travelers seeking spiritual peace. ⭐ 【Core Belief of the Main Deity: The Legend of the God of Medicine Baosheng Dadi】 ✅ The Protection of the God of Medicine and the Legend of the Medicine Sticks The soul of Renshou Temple lies in its main deity, Baosheng Dadi. The most celebrated legend among believers is the moving story of how, in the early days when medical care was underdeveloped, Da Dao Gong used **medicine sticks** to guide and heal countless patients. Even in modern times, stepping into the solemn main hall, one can still feel the powerful and compassionate aura of Baosheng Dadi (the God of Medicine), who protects health and embodies the benevolence of a healer. This is the most important aspect of Renshou Palace's faith. ✅ Nearly 300 Years of Historical Power Founded during the Ming-Zheng period, Baosheng Dadi has guarded this place for nearly 300 years. The main hall's shrines are exquisitely crafted, and the beams, pillars, and paintings reveal a profound sense of history within their solemnity, witnessing the deep-rooted inheritance of the belief in the god of medicine in the Guiren area. ⭐ 【Complete Auxiliary Worship Space: Comprehensive Spiritual Supplement】 ✅ Wenchang Hall: Guiding Studies and Career The temple has a dedicated Wenchang Hall, enshrining Wenchang Dijun (the God of Literature). It is a key space for students to seek wisdom and good fortune in exams, and for working professionals to pray for career success. The tranquil atmosphere of the hall complements the solemnity of the main hall. ✅ Tai Sui Hall: Annual Seating and Disaster Relief The side hall contains the Tai Sui Hall, enshrining the sixty Jiazi Tai Sui Star Lords. At the turn of the year, the temple provides services to worshippers to appease the Tai Sui (Grand Duke Jupiter) and pray for good fortune in the new year, thus perfecting the temple's function of protecting worshippers in all aspects of their lives. ⭐ 【On-site Environment and Management Test】 ✅ Modern Transformation through Digital Management Although it has a long history, Renshou Temple is a leading example in Taiwan in implementing digital management. The lighting and worship processes are highly efficient, demonstrating the wisdom of a "grand temple" keeping pace with the times. ✅ Parking and Environmental Observation The temple has a very spacious parking lot in front, which is very convenient for drivers. Because the night market is nearby, there are many people, and the public restrooms are used very frequently, so their cleanliness may not be as good as usual. Visitors are advised to be considerate and focus on the religious experience. ⭐ 【Professional Visit Recommendation (New Year's Eve Test, December 31, 2025)】 ✅ Year-End Thanksgiving and Blessing Tonight, as we ring in the new year, we recommend focusing your worship on the main hall dedicated to Baosheng Dadi (the God of Medicine), giving thanks for the year's health protection, before proceeding to the Wenchang Hall and Tai Sui Hall to pray for a smooth and prosperous new year. ✅ Key Craftsmanship Observations While worshipping the main deity, carefully appreciate the wood carvings and stone sculptures in the main hall, which represent the highest expression of respect from believers to the Great God of Medicine for over three hundred years. 📍 Summary and Evaluation: Guiren Renshou Palace is a legendary temple with a rich history and complete functions, its soul rooted in the belief in the God of Medicine. Key On-Site Test Highlights: Main deity is Baosheng Dadi, nearly 300 years of religious history, includes Wenchang Hall and Tai Sui Hall, and extremely convenient parking in the temple courtyard. No matter how the world changes, the divine power and solemn atmosphere of the main deity here will always be the spiritual origin most worthy of a special trip to Guiren.

My visit to Guiren Renshou Temple was a very positive experience overall. The temple grounds are spacious and very clean. Walking in didn't feel cluttered or oppressive; instead, it created a very peaceful and comfortable atmosphere. The incense offerings and the flow of movement were also well-planned, so even when it's crowded, it doesn't feel cramped. I really liked the feeling this place gave me: it wasn't just a place to pray, but rather a place to calm my mind and regroup. It's also convenient for those who come by car or bicycle to park and stop nearby. If you're in the Guiren area looking for a quiet, clean place suitable for prayer and a short walk, I would recommend Guiren Renshou Temple.

Guiren Renshou Temple is located on Wenhua Street, Guiren District, Tainan City. It primarily worships Baosheng Dadi (the God of Life), and is commonly known as the Dadaogong Temple, enjoying great popularity. It was built during the Ming-Zheng period and has a history of over 300 years. It is open daily from 05:30 to 21:00 and is easily accessible. Historical Development: It was built by Wu Jiushan, a general under the Zheng family, who brought the statue of Baosheng Dadi. Side rooms were added during the Yongzheng period of the Qing Dynasty, and it was renovated again during the Guangxu period. It underwent repairs during the Japanese occupation and after the war, preserving ancient plaques and stone tablets. The Wangchuan Jiao Ceremony and Parade have been registered as a cultural asset of Tainan City. Construction Introduction: The temple is a magnificent two-hall style building with double eaves and a hip roof. The painted door gods in the main hall are the work of the national treasure-level painter Pan Lishui. The hall preserves a stone tablet from the 14th year of the Guangxu reign and many other artifacts. Ancient Plaques and Cultural Relics In recent years, combining technology, an online altar has been set up for believers to pray for blessings. Filming Locations Ren Shou Palace attracts film crews due to its ancient architecture and local atmosphere. Scenes are mostly set against the backdrop of religious ceremonies or local culture, adding tension. Nearby Night Markets Guiren Junior High School Night Market (Hou Shi Night Market), open on Wednesdays, with numerous stalls. Guiren Fuxing Road Night Market, open on Thursdays, smaller in scale but frequented by locals. Night markets and temples complement each other, forming a fusion of faith and life. Most Unique The 300-year-old Baosheng Dadi (Baosheng Emperor) worship center, with flourishing incense offerings. Filming location, showcasing the atmosphere of religious and cultural integration. The surrounding night markets create a dual charm of faith and life. Additional Information?
